Do you know how to use a plant as a home decoration?

This is such an easy thing to do especially if you are on a budget or simply don't have time or confidence to go fully into designing your home interiors. Plants make a beautiful alternative to any artifact and, very often are more fun to have around and look at. There is so much variety of plants out there with garden centres, flower studios and market stalls popping up everywhere however, there are some simple rules you can follow to get the right results in you home. First of all choose a plant or plants that "speak" to you. Feel the connection and like them first. You are more likely to look after them and nourish them which means they will last longer and become an integral part of you home life.

When choosing a plant think of the space you want to place it in. Do you need a big planter to feel the "gap"or a small decorative one to make the shelf look pretty? Take a tour around the house before you commit to any purchase and make a conscious decision. If you want a statement piece go for a tall and magnificent plant that will look almost like a piece of furniture. This kind of plant works well in contemporary spaces or minimalistic interiors where less is more and every object plays an important role. If you have limited space invest in a clean and compact looking greens such as cactus. They look cool and won't fight for a space with other things in your surrounding. Medium size plants in a pretty pot offers a lovely "add on" value and it's easy to use for dressing the space. A stunning clay pot with herbs will make a fabulous kitchen decoration while medium size fiddle leaf fig will look great by your bed or in the leaving room by the sofa. Think of all those orchids you've seen over the years in shops, offices and other houses. They've been put there for one and one reason only: to decorate! You can do exactly the same at your home but be adventures and experiment with your choices. And remember, wherever you put your plants they are there for your to enjoy and feel happiness!
